CITY OF ADELAIDE FINISH LINE

THURSDAY 26 OCTOBER TO SATURDAY 28 OCTOBER, 9.00AM - 5.00PM

Witness the team excitement and celebration as they cross the City of Adelaide Finish Line after a 3,000-kilometre adventure from Darwin.

Stay across BWSC social channels to find out when the first Challenger Class vehicle will arrive in Adelaide.  Faculty calculations predict the first solar car will arrive Thursday morning, but it’s all up to the teams as the road to Adelaide can be challenging and unpredictable!

Challenger teams will continue to arrive across Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Cruiser Class solar cars are judged on more than speed to the finish line – in this very strategic contest, teams have a window of timing for their arrival into Adelaide and they must cross the line between 11.00 am and 2.00pm on Friday.

CSIRO CRUISER JUDGING

SATURDAY 28 OCTOBER, 9.00AM-1.00PM

Cruiser teams must prepare a brochure that describes their car, how it will be used, and how it will interact with a smart grid. Teams must also give a 3-minute presentation about their car to the judges in Adelaide and allow judges to get into their car to test the space and comfort.

Judges will be asked to consider design innovation, environmental impact, ease of access and egress, occupant space and comfort, ease of operation (driving and charging), versatility, style and desirability, suitability for the declared purpose.
