Teams Heating Up

The BWSC is officially getting close now, with BWSC Week in Darwin kicking off this Sunday 6 October.

Many of the teams are on the ground in Darwin now, with the rest either on the road or in the air making their way to Australia's top end.

Check out this week's Team Update, before all of the BWSC fun finally kicks off this weekend!

Western Sydney Solar Team gave us this great update on what they've been up to since they left Sydney to head up to Darwin on the road. They had a snowball fight on their way to Darwin - that's right, we said snowball fight!

Australia met the USA when UNSW Solar Racing Team Sunswift joined up with the University of Minnesota Solare Vehicle Project at Coober Pedy.

One of our Dutch teams, Solar Team Twente, took some time to visit the students at St Mary's Primary School to tell them all about the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, and their car. We love visiting local communities all along the route, and it's even better when the teams do it as well!

Vattenfall Solar Team also took some time to get amongst the local community, visiting the students at Nightcliff Primary School, teaching them how they design and build their solar car according to the BWSC regulations. Check out their awesome video!

Eclipse Solar Car team are on the ground in Darwin and quickly adjusting to the hot temperatures - not quite like Canada eh?

On Wednesday we started our race simulation! We have been driving up and down the Stuart Highway practicing many situations that could or will happen during the challenge: overtakings, control stops, emergency stops, setting up camp and cooking... And the experience has overall been successfull! We've learned a lot and the team feels now more confident about the race @worldsolarchallenge We will have some rest in Alice Springs before we continue our trip up to Darwin! Even though it's been a great experience, we are happy to finally be able to shower Oh! And we also ran into part of the @lodzsolarteam! It was great meeting you guys, see you soon in Darwin Any questions about the simulation?
