COVID-19 and the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge

Hello from South Australia.

Thanks for your interest as we plan for the 2021 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. Next year marks the event’s 16th edition, and our team is busy working on a bold program with innovation, sustainability and technology at its heart.

COVID-19 and the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic entries for the 2021 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge will close on 18 December, three months earlier than in previous event cycles. Following this we will review all current government measures relating to social distancing, density and contact tracing, international travel restrictions and isolation requirements.

If circumstances require us to postpone or cancel the 2021 event we will announce this within the first quarter of the year. All registered teams and volunteers will be contacted via email ahead of any public announcement being made through the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge website and social media channels.

Please note that registered teams will receive a full refund on all fees paid if the 2021 event is cancelled.
