How many times has your team participated in the event?

This will be our 4th World Solar Challenge - Our first was 2013.

What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?

The design philosophy behind ArrowSTF was to build a solar car that looked and felt like a real sports car - a car we wanted to own. With this in mind, we created the Sports Touring Framework - a 2 seater, solar electric sports car. We also designed ArrowSTF to meet the Australian Design Regulations so that it could become roadworthy and in the future commercialised.

What is unique about your solar car?

ArrowSTF was designed to be a roadworthy solar electric sports car. One unique aspect of our car is the custom solar panels encapsulated with a glass upper layer. This provides additional protection to the solar cells. The dashboard is also designed using industry standard software - Kanzi Rightware. Finally, not only does our car look like a real sports car, ArrowSTF feels like a real car - with doors that you can slam shut.

Why does your team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?

We love the opportunity to meet with other engineers from all over the world. It's such a wonderful opportunity to share and learn with all the other teams. We have friends all over the world from other teams that we value and look forward to seeing every two years.

What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?

We are looking forward to camping under the endless stars in the outback. We love getting to see more of the outback of our great country!
