How many times has your team participated in the event?

What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?

Our team likes to push development of our vehicles towards those which the public would like to use. For example, we started with a sleek two-seater. Our next development was a three seat runabout. We like to use off-the-shelf components and materials where possible, demonstrating that such vehicles are not out of reach for most people.

What is unique about your solar car?

SAV is demonstrating that solar/electric can be used for light commercial or freight vehicles. In a ute format or towing with the fith-wheel hitch, we can serve a tradesman purpose or recreational vehicle. Multiple formats for the 6m trailer have been drawn up.

Why does your team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?

Our team members value the experience of the Event very highly. We revel in the friendly rivalry but even more in the special relationships which are fostered as we compare technologies and vehicles with the wonderful people who come to our country for the competition.

What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?

Kangaroo stew.
and we love that we don't have to deal with long flights and shipping.
