How many times has your team participated in the event?
This will be our first time participating in the World Solar Challenge.
What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?
Efficiency, Speed, Control and Safety. These are the four pillars our car design philosophy revolves around. We have focused on optimizing aerodynamics by streamlining the car's shape and minimizing drag, thus reducing energy losses and allowing us to achieve higher speeds. Following an iterative design process allowed us to continuously evolve our design making it easily accessible for quick maintenance or replacement of components. We have also implemented backup plans for redundancy, ensuring the durability and reliability of our car, minimizing downtime and ensuring that the car remains operational throughout the race.
What is unique about your solar car?
Our unique Aerodynamic shape inspired by the streamlined shapes in nature is tuned to minimize drag while encapsulating other car components. Utilizing cutting-edge axial flux motors developed explicitly for solar cars, we achieve an astounding 98% efficiency. Our cooling system thrives in the scorching 50°C Australian summer while ensuring the driver's comfort. State-of-the-art battery technology gives us a 35% advantage over traditional car batteries, enabling consistent performance. We used a monocoque chassis, unattempted by any team in India. With these exceptional features, our solar car is a testament to engineering excellence and a beacon of progress in sustainable transportation.
Why does your team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?
The world is demanding a dimension shift in the efficiency of cars to keep up with the fast depletion of fossil fuels, and we see World Solar Challenge as the ultimate playground for innovations, forcing us to think from another angle to solve daunting engineering problems! Simply put, we love applying theory into practice and see the World Solar Challenge as an excellent opportunity to contribute to a greater and energy-efficient future!
What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?
Apart from the kangaroos, the scenic outback, and the thrill of the race, we look forward to interacting and forming good connections with the solar car community around the globe and learning from each other.
