How many times has your team participated in the event?
The JU Solar Team has competed in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge since 2013, building a new car for each race with a new team. This upcoming race will mark our 5th participation, showcasing our commitment to innovation and teamwork.
What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?
The design philosophy behind our solar car revolves around minimizing air resistance for optimal performance. Inspired by the shape of a raindrop, our team has carefully crafted the aerodynamic design to reduce drag. By streamlining the car's body, we aim to maximize efficiency and enhance the overall speed and range of the vehicle. The sleek and fluid contours not only contribute to reducing air resistance but also symbolize our commitment to harnessing the power of nature and sustainability in our design choices.
What is unique about your solar car?
What sets our solar car apart and makes it truly unique is its raindrop-shaped design. This innovative approach eliminates the need for a windshield-canopy, allowing uninterrupted sunlight to reach our solar panels. While other teams have opted for canopies that disrupt solar exposure, we have prioritized maximum efficiency. We are eagerly anticipating the reveal of other teams' cars and are excited to see how they have designed their vehicles for the competition.
Why does your team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?
The JU Solar Team values participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge for several reasons. It allows us to showcase innovation in sustainable technology, gain valuable skills, foster collaboration, create networking opportunities, and gain global recognition. Additionally, we participate because it's a tremendously fun and exciting experience that fuels our passion for solar technology and teamwork. We embrace the challenge with enthusiasm, enjoying every moment of the journey towards a greener and more sustainable future.
What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?
The JU Solar Team is excited to experience Australia's unique landscape. We look forward to meeting, exchanging ideas with other teams, learning from their approaches, and inspiring each other. It will be fascinating to see how teams have tackled challenges and solved problems innovatively.
