How many times has your team participated in the event?
We have participated three times in 2013, 2015 and 2019.
What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?
Exploring the potential of solar technology for automotive use.
Solving the energy and environmental problems of new energy vehicles.
Protecting the Earth's home and achieving sustainable development.
Exploring innovative and bold solutions to problems with science.
What is unique about your solar car?
Sun Shuttle Ⅳ is stimulated with the digital twin (DT) technology to accurately characterize energy. The energy consumption error between the experiment and simulation is less than 5.17%. The unique shape provides a wind resistance coefficient of 0.126 and a wind-ward area of 1.546 m2, which has much lower wind resistance at both low and high speed. The powertrain consists of two in-wheel PMSM motor, which are high efficiency.
Why does your team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?
On the basis of existing research and accumulation of solar cars, combined with the needs of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, we have broken through the key technology of lightweight low resistance design and developed a lightweight high-speed four seater solar car, demonstrating the technology and capabilities of solar cars, laying the foundation for practical application and technological promotion.
What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?
Lovely kangaroos and koalas, of course
