How many times has your team participated in the event?
UiTM EcoPhoton Solar Racing Team has participated the challenge 3 times in 2015, 2017 and 2019.
What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?
The name of the solar car is “Keris” which stands for a dagger in English. It is an ancestry weapon for Malays for centuries and it is also a symbolic of power for Malays. The “Keris” was chosen because the bullet shape solar car is somewhat similar to dagger shape, hence the name was chosen.
What is unique about your solar car?
It is the first bullet design approach for the team since joining the challenge in 2015 and the first UiTM solar car designed with a 3-wheel configuration to allow for a reduced power consumption during travel.
Why does your team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?
All team members want to experience participating in an international event and meeting with new people to engage with. The team also wants to experience the adventure of the event throughout the Outback of Australia as well as to encourage more teams from Malaysia to participate in this challenge.
What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?
The team is looking forward to seeing kangaroos, koalas, stargazing and experiencing the breathtaking Australian Outback scenery as well as establishing connections with other team members from around the world.
