46: JU Solar Team
About The Team
How many times has your team participated in the event?
JU Solar Team has participated five times in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. From the very start, our goal has always been to push the limits of sustainable technology—and to be better. This year we are more determined than ever to fight for victory!
What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?
Our design philosophy is built on our name, Nova Lumina, meaning “new light.” For us, that represents innovation, problem-solving, and the drive to push solar technology forward. We focus on creating a car that reflects our engineering approach—efficient, forward-thinking, and built for the future.
What is unique about your solar car?
Sustainability is at the core of our design. Unlike many teams that use carbon fiber, we prioritize eco-friendly materials such as flax fiber and Swedish steel. Additionally, our droplet-shaped design challenges traditional concepts and enhances aerodynamics, making our car both efficient and cutting-edge.
Why does youre team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?
Everyone in our team is a student, and while education teaches us a lot, a project like this takes learning to a whole new level. We get hands-on experience in engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving—all while competing in one of the most challenging solar races in the world. And above all, we love to compete!
What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?
We are excited to see the incredible projects from other teams and their unique design choices. We also look forward to experiencing the thrill of competition, pushing ourselves to the limit, and seeing our hard work pay off as we race towards our goal—aiming for the best possible result!
