Volunteer Terms and Conditions

Upon confirmation of being allocated a volunteer position for the 2027 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge event, you acknowledge and agree you will be working with us under the following terms and conditions.

 

1. That for insurance purposes, you are only covered by the South Australian Motor Sport Board (or any other entity responsible for the staging of the 2027 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge) insurance in the case of accident or injury.

 

2. That for insurance purposes you are not covered by insurance on travel to and from the event, and the Event Organizer does not cover transport costs unless otherwise specified by the Event Manager.

 

3. That you will be under the supervision and direction of a representative or agent of the South Australian Motor Sport Board (or any other entity responsible for the staging of the 2027 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge).

 

4. You will follow the Work Health & Safety guidelines contained within the Volunteer Guide to be issued at, or prior to, registration and event briefing.

 

5. You will follow reasonable requests and directions given in order to perform the set tasks to the best of your ability and assist other volunteers with tasks as required.

 

6. You will follow directions given in relation to the safe performance of tasks and undertake to perform these tasks in a lawful way that does not endanger your safety or the safety of others by any act or omission.

 

7. You will abide by the conditions detailed in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge Volunteer Guide. If there is something you do not agree with you will bring this to the attention of the Volunteer Manager before commencing any work on the event.

 

8. If involved in an incident/ accident you will complete the required incident report form and deliver it to the Volunteer Manager within 24 hours.

 

9. If required to drive a vehicle, you will have on your person a current and valid driver’s licence (non-endorsed) and will adhere to the policies laid out by the Event Organizer or vehicle provider.

 

10. Where you are unsure of tasks to be performed or how those tasks are to be performed, you will seek clarification from the Event Organizer or Volunteer Manager.

 

11. You will be courteous and helpful towards other volunteers and/or to those whom you are providing a service. You understand the trust placed in you, and at all times will act in the best interests of and respect the property and the rights of the Event Organizer, its officers and its customers.

 

12. Any photos taken of you undertaking official event duties may be used indefinitely for any Event Organizer collateral – this includes online, print and TV.

 

13. You must not divulge to the media or any other person any confidential information, which you may acquire or have acquired whilst volunteering. Confidential information includes intellectual property and trade secrets or information of commercial value, when that value would diminish, or a person would be unfairly advantaged in commercial dealings with the Event Organizer or the government if it was disclosed.

 

14. You accept that the South Australian Motor Sport Board (or any other entity responsible for the staging of the 2027 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge) will retain the right to use your services or not use your services as a volunteer as it sees fit.

 

15. You have disclosed details of any charges or convictions of criminal offences, previous to your engagement as a volunteer on the 2027 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.

 

16. You understand that the Event Organizer can require you to undergo a criminal history screening check at any time and that your continued engagement as a volunteer is conditional on giving consent to such a screening.

 

17. You understand that you engagement as a volunteer will be terminated if subsequent to obtaining the results of the criminal history screening it is determined by the Event Organizer that you present
