Day 2 Provisional Update

Bridgestone World Solar Challenge
26 Aug 2025
It’s a neck and neck tussle at the top on day two as the leaders reach Barrow Creek, 1210 kilometres south of Darwin. Flying the flag for the Dutch with its mighty lion livery, Brunel currently leads the way in Nuna 13. Just seven minutes behind, defending champions, Innoptus, in Infinite Apollo, are just in front of Twente, from the Netherlands, in Red Discover. All three teams are setting a blistering pace, and the lead could change at any time.
German team, Sonnenwagen Aachen are in fourth position, around 50 kilometres behind the lead group. They are followed by USA’s Michigan in Millenium, Neumann from Hungary, Tokai from Japan, and Australia’s Western Sydney in Unlimited 6.0. Just minutes behind are JU from Sweden and Top Dutch completing a closely contested top 10.
In the Cruiser Class, Estonia’s Solaride was just north of Tennant Creek, closely followed by Hong Kong’s Sophie 8X and Taiwan’s Apollo. Italy’s Onda Solare and Australia’s DUST are around 100
kilometres further back, south of Elliot.
Dramas on day one and two have led to the following teams now in the non-competitive Explorer Class – Italy’s Archimede, Tufast Eco from Germany, USA high school team, Iron Lions, Australia’s AUSRT and SASVA, Sweden’s Halmstad and India’s Agnirath.
