About The Team
How many times has your team participated in the event?
We have participated once in the BWSC 2023.
What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?
One of the key elements of our approach was designing a sleek, aerodynamic shape to minimize air resistance. The car can move more smoothly by reducing drag and requiring less energy to maintain speed. We also prioritized lightweight construction by using carbon fiber. This helps lower energy consumption and improves overall efficiency. The design of our solar car's electrical subsystem prioritizes maximizing solar energy conversion into usable work and minimizing energy losses. After experimenting with various solar panel stack-up sequences and collaborating with industry professionals, we employed robotic soldering techniques to enhance the efficiency of the solar cells.
What is unique about your solar car?
Aagneya is the 2nd solar car built by our team for the BWSC 2025. It's the largest solar racing car manufactured by a student team in India, and our team performed the longest hand layup process to build the hull of our vehicle.
Why does youre team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?
The BWSC is more than a race for us—it is a global platform that tests our engineering excellence, teamwork, and endurance. Participating in the BWSC allows us to benchmark ourselves against the best in the world while promoting sustainable mobility on an international stage. It challenges us to push the boundaries of innovation under real-world constraints and fosters collaboration, learning, and global exchange.
What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?
We are most excited about experiencing the spirit of the BWSC community—interacting with global teams, sharing knowledge, and learning from diverse approaches to sustainable engineering. Driving our solar car through the vast and beautiful Australian outback is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, representing the years of hard work and passion. We also look forward to cultural exchange, making new connections, and representing India on the world stage.
