    About The Team

Founded in 1992, Eclipse ETS has spent over three decades designing and racing solar cars. After strong showings in 2019 and 2023, finishing in 9th and 10th place respectively, we are excited to return for our sixth participation, aiming to build on our past successes and further improve our performance.
At Eclipse, we optimize every aspect of our car, ensuring each design decision is driven by comprehensive performance analysis and precise requirements, leaving no room for uncertainty. We take great pride in manufacturing most of our car's mechanical and electrical components in-house. By leveraging our manufacturing capabilities and industrial partnerships for raw material sourcing, we strive to harness our resources to their full potential. Through our work, we aim to inspire both the industry and the public toward a future of cleaner energy and sustainable transport.
We are passionate about elevating our craftsmanship to new standards, enhancing both our car's energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal. By blending art and engineering, we transform our project from a highly efficient solar-powered vehicle into an elegant work of art. As proud representatives of Quebec, we always incorporate elements of French-Canadian culture into our visual designs. As students of the Ecole de technologie superieure (ETS), an engineering only school, we strive to build a team of talented individuals with multidisciplinary skills and diverse interests, extending far beyond engineering.
For us, the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge is the ultimate test of both our engineering expertise and teamwork. Competing against the world’s most accomplished teams and striving for a place at the top of the rankings is both exhilarating and meaningful. It’s a unique opportunity to showcase the engineering excellence of Quebec, Canada, and ETS. We’re excited to see the innovative designs and ideas our competitors bring to the challenge, all while working within the same set of regulations.
We are eager to experience the Australian wilderness during our testing sessions and the Challenge. Ending demanding and hot days of work at Hidden Valley Raceway or Gun Point Road with some of Australia’s iconic treats like Golden Gaytime or Zooper Dooper is also something we look forward to.
