    About The Team

This will be our first time participating.
Here at the Iron Lions High School solar car team, we emphasize a design philosophy centered on aerodynamics and reliability to enhance performance. We have a very intentional design process that fosters student learning, and encourages hands-on experience in engineering principles. By prioritizing efficient shapes and materials, we are able to create a solar car that competes effectively, while also serving as a learning platform. Our team collaborates closely, integrating feedback and innovative ideas to refine designs. This approach prepares students for future careers by giving them teamwork and problem-solving skills, which are essential for success in all environments.
The Iron Lions solar car stands out due to our commitment to in-house production, constructing our own solar panels and battery assembly instead of outsourcing. This hands-on approach enhances students' understanding of solar technology. Additionally, the use of 3D printing for our car's mold allowed prototyping and customization, ensuring a unique design tailored to our specifications. This combination of self-sufficiency and advanced manufacturing techniques positions us as a forward-thinking team in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, emphasizing sustainability and engineering excellence.
Our team highly values participating in the Bridgestone Solar Challenge to not only showcase our capabilities as a world-class high school solar car team, but a world-class solar car team. This experience highlights our students' hard work, and elevates our organization's visibility in the solar community. Competing at this level fosters teamwork and innovation, while also inspiring future generations in renewable energy. Ultimately, the Bridgestone Solar Challenge offers an incredible opportunity for personal and professional growth, allowing us to demonstrate our commitment to excellence in solar technology and engineering.
As a team we anticipate our visit to Australia for the adventure and unique experiences it offers. This trip will provide our young adults with invaluable international travel opportunities and cultural immersion. This enriches their understanding of global perspectives in renewable energy and teamwork
