How many times has your team participated in the event?
We were part of the event 7 times in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2013, 2017, 2023.
What is the design philosophy behind your solar car?
Developing green energy, safety, intelligence, commercially available, and cloud-based
"commercialized urban solar electric vehicle" technology. Currently, the EV industry
focuses on "energy-saving and range extension," with specific strategies including vehicle
design and lightweight material development.
What is unique about your solar car?
Redefining the product value of solar-powered new energy vehicles with a focus on
commercialization, low aerodynamic drag, energy efficiency, mass producibility, and
innovative design aesthetics as the development goals for the Apollo IX vehicle model.
Each brand's vehicles have unique family characteristics. The Apollo solar car, developed
for market release, features the built-in diffusers. Also, recycled carbon fiber is used in
vehicle interior materials. It also uses the latest generation of solar cells to increase power
generation efficiency. The suspension system uses 7N01 aluminum to increase dynamic
load, and the battery system adds flame-retardant expansion stickers to prevent thermal
runaway.
Why does youre team value participating in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge?
With the worsening global climate change and environmental issues, achieving net-zero
emissions has become a crucial goal for sustainable development worldwide. "Renewable
energy" and "Vehicle electrification" are key strategies for global net-zero transformation.
Electric vehicles are the trend of these years, many major manufacturers keep finding ways
to increase the endurance of it. Commercializing our solar car has always been our goal.
We hope to test and validate our designs through BWSC.
BWSC is not just a competition but a big step towards our goal.
What is the one thing your team is looking forward to when you visit Australia?
To test and validate the designs and performance of Apollo IX plus.
Moreover, we look forward to talk with other teams from the world and share knowledge
each other to accelerate the revenue on PVEV industries, along with global net zero
emission, new EV era, green energy, and sustainable future.
